Dr Mohit Bhatara is an interdisciplinary scholar whose career spans institutional collaboration, operational leadership, academia, research, consulting  and advisory participation across diverse cross-cultural contexts. His experience has been shaped by institutional appointments in international settings, educational training, and collaborations including research collaborations across multiple countries and regions, complemented by sustained personal and professional cross-border engagement.

Dr Mohit Bhatara holds a doctoral degree, his terminal academic qualification, following first-division results at undergraduate and master’s levels. He subsequently completed a Fellowship in Neurological Rehabilitation. His postdoctoral research background included a postdoctoral non-resident research affiliation with a lab associated with an academic setting in Canada.

Research interests extend across human behaviour, integrative health inquiry, and behaviour-informed approaches within broader health and policy settings, with particular attention to the conceptual application of behavioural insights to the design and evaluation of policy frameworks. Career History

Career experience has spanned academic involvement, research activity, operational leadership, consulting and advisory participation across diverse international contexts. This included prior employment within a JCI-accredited tertiary-care hospital in the UAE, where he was involved in departmental administration and management, along with related responsibilities, academic appointments as Associate Professor in Ethiopia and Lecturer in China, along with a previous Affiliate Faculty association in Canada. In India, he held a management role within the wellness division of a diversified corporate group, with departmental leadership responsibilities, and was involved in the pre-opening of wellness services within a healthcare setting in the UAE. In Ethiopia, his institutional service included committee-based roles, such as secretary of the Master’s Curriculum Development Committee, secretary of the Laboratory Establishment Committee, and membership on other institutional committees. He previously served as a committee member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and as a voting member of the Appeals Board at a separate university in another country. 

Professional experience has also encompassed consulting and advisory contributions involving organisational development and strategic considerations. Institutional experience in East Africa included participation in university–industry collaborative activities established through a formal departmental Memorandum of Understanding, encompassing strategic initiatives, cross-sector engagement, and research exchange. Research experience has also included engagement within the UAE. International research contributions have separately included participation in the multi-round Delphi consultation within the Cochrane Informed Health Choices (REASONED) project, following an invitation extended by a professional based in the Nordic region.

and Collaborations

His current professional involvement and independent activities include scientific advisory participation, project-specific research contributions, selected international network listings, and creative development. As part of the Science Advisory Network of Psyntient, Inc., based in the United States, he serves as Principal Science Advisor (PSA). 

He also contributes as a Co-Investigator to a research study in counselling and psychotherapy, in a study-specific capacity and in collaboration with a research lab based in Canada. 

Scholarly collaboration with researchers based in Africa is ongoing, in an individual, project-specific capacity.

Across his international professional and expert-network listings include GLG (Expert), VISASQ/COLEMAN (Expert), and Maven (Consultant), among other similar professional platforms.

In an independent capacity, he engages in research development and creative activities. Potential collaborations across creative, interdisciplinary, and professional domains, including those with international or on-site dimensions, are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, subject to contextual relevance, separate confirmation, and applicable requirements. Honorary Roles, International Community Engagement, and Social-Impact Work 

Previous honorary contributions have included participation within formal institutional and community settings. These included service as an Honorary Collaborative Advisor with a department at a public institution in Ethiopia, as well as service as an Honorary Community Engagement Mentor supporting psychoeducation, disability, and inclusion-focused programmes with a special-needs organisation in Ethiopia. 

In a separate engagement, he served as an External Consultant Advisor, in a voluntary and honorary, project-specific capacity, to a community-service initiative at a public university in Ethiopia. Additional international engagement included participation in the Oxford Diplomatic Society Nepal delegation in an observational and engagement-oriented capacity. 

Community-oriented and social-impact activities have included participation across Ethiopia, India, Nepal, the UAE, and China, contributing to programmes focused on health promotion, psychosocial well-being, education, and inclusion. His work supported eye health initiatives, autism-related programmes, education awareness activities, and creative community initiatives for children and adolescents. He served as a Founding Member during the formative phase of a non-commercial, service-oriented community club in Ethiopia. His contributions in industrial settings included supporting cross-cultural workforce adaptation to enhance organisational functioning. Alongside volunteering in education-driven campaigns, he provided honorary participation in psychoeducation, empowerment, disability inclusion, and arts-based community initiatives. His involvement further included supporting student wellbeing activities within higher education environments and co-leading educational awareness projects benefiting students, reflecting a sustained commitment to community development across multiple regions. His community work has been recognised through a nomination for the African Community Service Awards.
